Wie schon die Vorgängeralben bewegt sich das Songwrting auf UNCLE DADDY erneut jenseits typischer Genre-Schubladen. So wird auch dieses mal nicht auf Synthesizer-Hooks und Gitarrenexperimente verzichtet.
Ergänzt wird das Ganze durch Songs wie RAISE MY GLASS oder BLOODSTAINS, bei denen Keyboarderin Vez die Lyrics geschrieben hat und den Hauptgesang übernimmt. Frischer Wind im Hause WONK und ein würdiger Nachfolger des TERROR-Albums.

Musikalisch vielleicht etwas düsterer als zuletzt, dafür aber gewohnt abwechslungsreich und gleich vier Mal jenseits der Zwei-Minuten-Marke. Textlich wie immer den Finger in die Wunde, bis Deutschland heult. Aufgenommen mit zwei 4-Spur-Bandmaschinen im Schlachthaus Nebelschütz (Lausitz), gemastert von Daniel Husayn (Nord London).
Mal Freak-Folk mit hartem Drive an der Peripherie des Postpunk, dann flottierend, fiebrig-nervös und gleich wieder kühl und wavig. Rachut schmeißt in dazu teils schrillem Ton mit Wortfetzen und Satzbausteinen um sich, an die sich nicht selten eine süße Melodie schmiegt. Und es ist die erste Platte auf der unser Lieblings-Wildschweinhasser nicht schreit! Was für eine Perle!
